Grant also had an important railroad station having a large wooden water tower that was used to replenish the water supply of steam engines heading North to cities such as Traverse City. Today these historic landmarks are of the last few in existence in the country, entertaining locals and visitors alike while they enjoy a great meal in the original railroad stations depot now converted into a restaurant rightly named "The Grant Depot".
